A 24-hour refrigerator backup plan
A 24-hour plan asks a narrow question: under stated assumptions, how many watt-hours cover one day of the average draw you entered? It does not ask whether the compressor will start, whether the door stayed shut, or whether the food is still safe to eat.
Federal outage guidance treats an unopened refrigerator as a matter of a few hours, not a full day. A battery sized for 24 hours of average energy is not a substitute for that temperature guidance. Read the food-safety page beside any runtime.
Illustration: 500 kWh per year
This is not your refrigerator unless its EnergyGuide figure really is 500 kWh/year. Average draw is 57.0776 W. Adding the 10 W idle allowance makes the AC-equivalent load 67.0776 W. Minimum capacity for 24 hours is 2,104.4 Wh.
On that illustration, every catalog battery is at or under a day. At one decimal, the DELTA 3 Max plans for 23.4 hours and the Explorer 2000 v2 plans for 23.3 hours. Both are short of a full 24-hour target. The smaller models are shorter still. Change the annual kWh and the picture changes. Use the calculator with 24 hours selected.
